Martin Collins, the Managing Director of Midlands Member Superite Tools, has joined forces with a local charity, free@last, who improve the lives of children and young people in Birmingham and encourages other Midlands members to join as well.

The charity, free@last, which has been going for 21 years, and who recently won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, aims to improve the lives of children and young people who live in disadvantaged communities. For Made in the Midlands member Superite Tools, it is a cause that they would encourage other members to support.

From adventurous activities, and youth entrepreneurial business, to therapy and general youth clubs, free@last aims to overcome poverty by providing a breadth of opportunity and support to help them with the challenges they face from the environment and circumstances that they've been born into.

So what is Club 3000? Speaking to John Street, the Director of free@last, the charity behind the concept, talked about what the unique club offers. "Club 3000 is a simple concept, where 3000 people support free@last by giving us just £10 per month. This amount allows us to cover our annual costs while also being able to provide effective and purposeful support and opportunities for the children and young people of Nechells, Birmingham."

John went on to talk about the benefits of the club, saying, "With so many good causes in the UK, in need of financial support, we created Club 3000 intending to show our members how much we value their generosity, by providing a variety of benefits to those in the Club."

These benefits include:

● Monthly newsletters are showing you how your monthly donation is making a difference in our community.

● Access to members offer, which are discounts and offers directly from some of our business supporters

● Invitation to Members-only events, where you'll meet new people and old friends, all who have the common goal of supporting free@last.

● Access to members-only Social Media Groups, where all new offers will be announced, new members introduced, and news will be shared.

You can read more about the club, including dewtails on how to join, via their website.

One such Made in the Midlands member who is supporting the cause, and encouraging other members to as well is Martin Collins from Superite Tool. For Martin, he's supporting a group of 4 young people - aged between 13 and 16 - who have, as part of the youth entrepreneurial business support offered by Club 3000, started making and selling jewellery.

Speaking to John about how the charity plans to grow this, he explained that they're developing this into a business that is focusing on tourism within Birmingham, with several local companies nurturing and mentoring the group of 4 with the knowledge to help them become business owners themselves.

The group supported by Martin aims to grow, with the goal of launching a site selling the products, focusing on Birmingham to start with, but with room to grow, by the end of the year.

If you would like to find out more or begin the process of becoming a member, please email [email protected] or call John on 07971000598 if you would like to offer discounts to other Club 3000 members.
